Giving Tuesday Brings Out the Best in First Weber Agents, Staff

Updated: Nov 30, 2022

First Weber agents and staff raised almost $40,000 during the First Weber Foundation's First Annual Giving Tuesday Drive.

The First Weber Foundation encouraged members of the First Weber family to work together or to use the Foundation's Matching Gifts program to make an impact for the holiday season.

Thanksgiving is an important time at First Weber, as we focus on the gratitude we have for our clients, customers and other key players in real estate transactions. Holding the Giving Tuesday Drive was a natural fit with this time of year, and our agents and staff showed their generosity!

Some members of First Weber held office or public collections for a qualifying non-profit, resulting in total donations collected just over $16,000. The Foundation matched some of those collections with an additional $13,235 to make those donations grow to $29,292.65.

Others used the First Weber Foundation Matching Gifts Program - donating $6,335 of their funds to non-profit organizations that held special meaning for them. First Weber Matches to those gifts totaled $3,850 for a total Matching Gifts impact of $10,185.

Recipients of the collections ranged from food pantries and food banks to humane societies, children's bedding, honor flight program and lake preservation. The Matching Gifts recipients varied between medical foundations, humane societies, community action programs, food security programs, domestic abuse intervention and childhood care intervention.

"This drive exceeded our expectations," said Foundation Director Nancy K Smith. "We know people find this time of year particularly meaningful, and we're proud of the generous nature of the people at First Weber."

First Weber has over 60 offices and 1400 real estate professionals statewide – and approximately 80% of the agents and staff are members of the First Weber Foundation. Employees and agents pledge a portion of their paycheck or commission earnings to the Foundation and then are able to utilize the program to give back to eligible 501(c)3 non-profits in their communities.

Since it’s inception, the First Weber Foundation has contributed more than $3.8 million to more than 1,000 non-profit organizations. The First Weber Foundation is the charitable arm of First Weber Inc. We were incorporated in 2006 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to expand First Weber’s commitment to strengthening our communities through charitable contributions and volunteer leadership.
